Today on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff, of which I am Assistant Producer, we were debating whether or not your background bares any significance on the way your life pans out. I am so proud to have come from a working-class background, wearing running shoes while I climbed my way to my dreams. I stand up for state schools; I’m the girl that got some of the top grades in my school and ended up with a Master’s Degree. I’m the girl the grew up in a small town in Essex and got my own TV and radio shows. I’m the girl who’s voice could’ve been drowned out my those already one hundred feet in front of me in stilettos but I knew it doesn’t matter what shoes I wore, what matters is the steps we take and the footprints we leave.
