The Opening of London Fashion Weekend 2012
The much awaited ticket had arrived which only meant one thing; I needed to prepare an outfit and prepare myself for one of the biggest designer shopping event and hottest catwalk in town. It could only be London Fashion Weekend.
Masses lined up awaiting the anxious moment to run in their stilettos in order to see the first, opening catwalk show of London Fashion Weekend 2012. Gracing the runway were renowned designers Holly Futon, Prim Rose, Antipodium, Game On and Jasper Conran. Be prepared to be dazzled (literally – you may need to opt for sunglasses before you scroll down!) by the bright colours, prints and pastels that will be this seasons necessities for your wardrobe!
Holly Futon SS12 Collection
Holly Futon’s collection sported bright, vibrant colours mixed with various print designs. These looks are perfect for the Summer, teamed with big bright coloured bangles and a bright clutch to complete the look. High street shops are beaming with bright colours, the most popular being bright corals, pinks and blues.
Holly Futon’s collection is a vibrant contrast to the pastel colours displayed by Prim Rose. But even this designer could not revere from adding coral to her collection. The first model wears beige/cream tones paired with pastel coral heels, showing how even a casual, light breezy outfit can possess some sassiness.
Antipodium AW12 Collection
Geoffrey J Finch for his label Antipodium is for the retro chic who can mix and match items for a vintage look. Sporting pastels, print and a demure shade of black, Antipodium has a variety of styles and looks to offer so that you can achieve a casual yet retro look. If wearing black this summer, pair your outfit with some thin gold bangles to enhance your look and give you a funky yet polished finish.
Jasper Conran SS12 Collection
Jasper Conran is clearly channeling girl fever with his bright pinks and red.
But if the colours, the prints, the models and the fantastic host were not enough to dazzle you, there was plenty more for you to see! Every room in Somerset House was like a secret surprise ready to be explored. With designer clothing ready to buy in each room, this event was designed for men and women who do not even register the saying ‘shop until you drop’ because every room that you entered was one better than the other.
And for those who were in killer stilettos and did need a pit-stop, there were cute cafes and food rooms to grab a bite and restore that energy. And for all the women who were ransacking through clothing, scarves, jewellery and much more, Toni&Guy and Elizabeth Arden were on hand to beautify you.
