London Fashion Week
Poise. Make some noise for the hottest event of the season. London Fashion Week! Where all of the top fashion designers, Vivienne Westwood, Dior, and Paul Smith to name a few, are all packed into one room bursting with glitz and glamour.
I attended the London Fashion Week Charity Event at the Royal Lancaster Hotel which showcased some of the best designs from Coventry University graduates. One of the UK’s leading fashion designers Alvin Loy has been mentoring the students and hand-picked some of their garments to take part in his show which took place during one of the biggest dates in the fashion calendar.
My cousin Komal Sagu, graduate of Coventry University, exclusive fashion designer and makeup artist, had the lucky break of showcasing her collection during this glamorous charity event for the Royal Princess Trust. So my family and I created quite a crowd for her to show our support and happiness for her success.
Hoping to bump into a few celebs, I tried to dress to impress, wearing a new Grecian-style silk dress. Not being too much of a fashion queen, I admit to wearing trainers during the entire train journey, only to change into stiletto heels at Lancaster Gate station! And more to the amusement of my family, as soon as I left the fashion show room, I changed back into my comfortable converses, hiding them with my handbag as I walked out of the hotel!
Unique styles and funky designs lit up the runway and paparazzi were going crazy. Princess Anne opened the second show which included a sit down meal. Celebrity guests from Eastenders, The Bill, Vanessa Feltz, Jeremy Kyle and many more enjoyed the fashion show; supermodel Caprice modelling some of the outfits.
I hope to attend more of these fashion shows in the future, not only to revel in the designer clothing (being a complete shopaholic!) but also to support Komal Sagu in the future of her collection. Good Luck Komal!
